COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

house rules

  1. Be kind, have fun, build community!

  2. Nonlesbians are more than welcome! We simply ask that you respect that the space was built with lesbian community at the center of its mission.

  3. Racism, Misogynoir, Transmisogyny, Ableism, Transphobia, Homophobia, Lesbophobia, and any other discrimination will not be tolerated. Anyone who doesn’t abide will be asked to leave the space if necessary and provided with an opportunity to engage in an accountability process if deemed appropriate by those harmed.

  4. Consent is mandatory in all interactions. No one is permitted to touch anyone, in any way, without getting express, verbal consent. Anything that is not a ‘Yes’ or a ‘Hell, yes’ is a ‘Hell, no.’ Maintain consent before touching people and their assistive devices such as wheelchairs, canes, hearing aids, etc.

  5. Nobody will be barred from entry due to lack of funds. Poor and unhoused people are welcome in the space.

  6. The venue has 21+, 18+ and all-ages events. No person under the minimum age of the event will be allowed entry. No minors will be served alcohol.

covid-19 policy

Masks are required when not drinking or eating. We keep disposable KN95 masks available at our door in case you forget yours. Some events will not allow eating or drinking to provide a COVID safer environment. Our space is equipped with a large-room air purifier containing a medical-grade H13 true HEPA air filter as well as a smaller supplementary air purifier.

accessibility information

Elevator: Our venue is located in a basement, down a flight of concrete steps. There is an elevator located in the foyer of Mesa Verde (the restaurant upstairs from us). Inside the elevator, press the button labeled “B” to be taken to the venue. Please make sure to check in with the volunteer at our main entrance on cover nights when you arrive.

Bathrooms: We have two gender-neutral bathrooms. One is not wheelchair accessible, and has two toilet stalls. The other bathroom has a urinal and a wheelchair accessible toilet stall. Neither bathroom has automatic doors, so please let a bartender or door volunteer know if you need assistance with opening or closing doors.

Seating: Our bar area is not accessible for wheelchair seating, but we typically have several tables around the room that are. If you’re at an event without tables and need one, please let a bartender or door volunteer know and we’d be happy to set one up for you. We have many places around the venue to sit down and rest.

Lighting: The venue is often dimly lit unless the event is something like a reading. On dance nights, we have moving lights and lasers and occasionally use a fog machine and strobe lights.

Sound: On dance nights and band nights, the venue is quite loud for several hours. We keep a supply of foam earplugs on hand. If the sound becomes too overwhelming, we have a covered patio area where you are allowed to take drinks (please note: this is also our smoking area).
